International Dory Races : Competitors from the United States and Canada compete in the traditional Lunenburg dory for the right to claim the title "International Champion". The International dory races have been held on an annual basis in both Lunenburg Nova Scotia and Gloucester Massachusetts. Spectators can view the races from a variety of vantage points along the historic waterfront.

International Dory Summit: Features bipartisan competition between Canada and United States in a Lunenburg dory. In 2008 Massachusetts State Senator Bruce Tarr and partner defeated Canadian MP Gerald Keddy and MLA wife Judy Streatch.

Lunenburg Dory Challenge: A collaboration of the Lunenburg Waterfront Seafood Festival and the South Shore Health Services Foundation . Business and community members pay a registration fee to compete in this fun event.

Scallop Shucking Competition: Fierce competition from those amongst those that make their living aboard the scallop fleet that leaves from Lunenburg county ports.This is an event not to be missed. The skill and precision required to shuck a scallop is a site to be seen.

Celebrity Scallop Shucking: Local celebrities demonstrate the skill required to shuck scallops or not in a very entertaining competition.

Squid Jigger Pub: A traditional beer garden held under a tent on the Lunenburg waterfront. Sample seafood delicacies prepared by local community organizations, grab a ice cold beer and enjoy the sights and music during this event.

Lobster Boat Races: Fishermen from the local area compete in a race that matches speed and skill as they set and retrieve lobster traps.

Lunenburg Seafood Experience: Local community organizations prepare seafood and other tasty snacks including scallops, fish cakes, chowder and mussels. Visitors purchase tickets to redeem at the numerous concessions.

Lunenburg Chowder Challenge: Lunenburg is known for its fine restaurants and pubs who compete for the right to claim the title of Chowder Champ. There is a juried and people's choice award. Visitors can purchase an opportunity to sample a variety of chowders.
